Hurts So Good
I decided to manipulate this photo because, as is, it functioned more as a portrait which really wasn't the intention. I liked the image and the the way that it played into the glamourization of smoking. At the time I was yelling at my friend about her habit and this was her mocking response. She later quit, and I later started. Such is life. Furthermore, the photo just wasn't technically that good. Why not play with the color? |

Rammed Earth House
It took me all day but here are the additional Joshua Tree pics I promised, with some more detail of the rammed earth structures. My friend David Weisman was making a documentary about alternative architecture titled At Home With Mother Earth. That's him with the camera. He took the pictures of me sitting on one of the structures and trying my hand at making bricks. All of the bricks were handmade with personal details . |

The Homestretch
The marathon is sometimes just as long for the spectators, especially those of us without tickets or special access. The picture on the left was taken just a few hundred yards in front of the finishline; The picture on the right a few hundred after. The middle picture shows the walk around the Great Lawn we had to traverse to get from one side to the other. The finish line is in the middle there somewhere.
I'm still not used to the digital camera. I like the spontaneity but the focus and framing leave a great deal to be desired. Labels: Central Park, marathon, NYC

Due to the sorry, dismantled shape of my computer, I'm having trouble updating the site (See picture on the far right.) However, l wanted to share a few pictures from this year's NYC Marathon. These were taken at Central Park South about 1 mile from the finish. This is the group averaging about 10 mins/mile. Congratulations to everyone who ran and especially women's 1st & 2nd place finalists Paula Radcliffe and Susan Chepkemei who put on the best display of sportsmanship I've seen in years.
